While there is not much information given about the 1.0 announcement on the game's website there will no doubt be content added on release day.įor those hungry to dig into the game but waiting for the full release Red Hook has announced that Darkest Dungeon will be receiving a free demo as part of the Steam Next Fest. This seems to have been successful as the game surpassed 100,000 units on its early access launch, which has only grown as updates continue to roll in. Red Hook has also been diligently addressing balance within the game, tuning the meta to be different from the original while still providing a satisfyingly sadistic experience. The jump is surprisingly painless as the art style looks just as crisp as it did in 2015. The game retains the unique art style, with deep colors and thick line work but blends it with a new 3D engine compared to the original's 2D artwork.
